In my art, I use big acrylic and oil paintings to tell the stories of marginalized figures in modern Afro-Cuban culture. These people - men, women, and young folks - deal with prejudice and the harsh realities of racial tensions in today's Cuba.
My art focuses on telling the stories of marginalized individuals in Afro-Cuban culture through large acrylic and oil portraits. These portraits capture the struggles faced by men, women, and young people who are stigmatized and confront racial conflicts in modern-day Cuba. By using a limited palette of unique colors, textiles, and materials, my paintings come together like a patchwork, reflecting the collective voice and presence of these individuals in society. It has been essential in shaping the evolution of my artwork.
