From Concept to Creation: 9 Months of Building a Thriving Creative Hub

I’m officially nine months deep into building this website, and wow—what a ride it’s been! Technically, the site’s been live since October 2023, but let’s be real: back then, I had no clue how much hustle it’d take to actually get people to show up and read it. Spoiler alert: it’s way harder than I thought.

These last nine months have been a crash course in perseverance, creativity, and learning the ropes the hard way. But here’s the cool part: the grind is paying off. More and more of you are finding your way to this little corner of the internet, where contemporary art, creative culture, and all things pushing the boundaries of human knowledge take center stage. Because, let’s face it, innovation doesn’t happen without a spark of inspiration, right?

The Numbers Don’t Lie: Growth in Action

If you’ve been around for a while, you know I’m all about tracking progress—not just in my sculptures but in everything I build. And this website is no exception. Over the past few months, the growth has been nothing short of exciting.

Take a look at the numbers from Google Search Console:

  • Total Clicks: 553 (That’s 553 times someone decided to visit and explore the site!)

  • Total Impressions: 68,742 (Which means the site is appearing in searches more than ever.)

  • Click-Through Rate (CTR): 0.8% (Always room to improve, but hey, that’s still engagement.)

  • Average Position: 25.6 (Climbing up those search rankings, one post at a time.)

And the trend is clear: traffic is accelerating. Just on February 19th, the site reached an all-time high in impressions—1,873 in a single day. That’s a serious leap forward and a sign that people are finding and resonating with what’s being built here.

From Steel to SEO: The Unexpected Challenges

Building sculptures from sheets of 4mm steel, using laser cutting, and bringing my cosmic visions to life? That part, I know inside and out. But growing a website? That was a whole new challenge.

At first, I thought, “Build it, and they will come.” Turns out, that’s not how the internet works. Instead, it’s been about:

  • Writing content that connects with art lovers, space enthusiasts, and creative minds.

  • Learning how SEO works and fine-tuning my posts so they actually appear in search results.

  • Experimenting with social media to drive traffic beyond just organic search.

  • Making sure the site isn’t just a static portfolio but a true creative hub, offering insights and discussions that go beyond just showcasing my work.

Why This Growth Matters

Sculpture is a physical, tangible thing—but in today’s world, art needs a digital presence. If you’re not online, you might as well be invisible. This website isn’t just a place to showcase my sculptures; it’s a space where ideas collide, where art meets technology, and where people can engage with work that challenges their perception of the universe.

The increasing traffic means more eyes on the work, more conversations sparked, and ultimately, a growing community of people fascinated by the same things I am—space exploration, paleontology, kinetic sculpture, and the intersection of science and art.

What’s Next?

If these last nine months have proven anything, it’s that persistence pays off. And this is just the beginning. The next phase of VonHauerland.com is about scaling up:

  • More Sculptures: Expect new pieces that push the boundaries of interactivity and movement.

  • Deeper Insights: More articles breaking down the inspiration, technique, and vision behind my work.

  • More Community Engagement: Finding ways to bring art lovers into the conversation, whether through social media, comments, or interactive content.

A Huge Thank You

To everyone who’s clicked, scrolled, admired, or even skeptically raised an eyebrow at my work—thank you. Your curiosity, enthusiasm, and sheer presence here mean everything. Without visitors, a website is just a lonely URL floating in the void. But because of you, Von Hauerland is not just a name; it’s a place where art and space collide.

So stick around. The universe is expanding, and so is this site.
